Edsel D'souza
Founder and CEO
Edsel Dsouza is a licensed independent insurance agent in California and owner of ECD Insurance Agency.
His mission is to provide peace of mind by taking the worry and hassle out of obtaining proper insurance coverage. Edsel is licensed in health, home, auto, renters, and business insurance, with a passion and focus on health insurance for individuals, families, Medicare, and employer-based plans.
Born and raised in India, Edsel moved to the US in 2001 to pursue a degree in Hospitality Management.
His career in the hotel industry took him from The Ritz Carlton in Boston to the iconic Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, and finally to the Park Hyatt in Manhattan as Assistant Director. However, a life-altering accident at 40 led him to transition into the insurance industry.

Edsel's personal experiences have shaped his approach to insurance.
A few years after working as an independent insurance agent, Edsel survived emergency brain surgery just before the pandemic--an event that could have meant financial ruin had he not been adequately insured. Edsel's firsthand knowledge of the impact from being insured drives his passion for helping others secure their future.
Aside from assisting members with health insurance, Edsel's strives to connect with all areas of his local community.
Over the years Edsel has continued to make a positive impact within his Los Angeles community. He was a previous Rotarian with the Pasadena Rotary. Currently, Edsel proudly supports local civic organizations. For instance, Edsel recently volunteered as a Medicare representative at West Hollywood Pride and as a healthcare insurance spokesperson for the Hawthorne Business Expo. Moreover, he is active in his local parish of St. Monica's Catholic Church in Santa Monica, CA where he serves as a Eucharistic Minister.

Additionally, Edsel hosts and chairs a monthly networking event called "Coastal Connections" at the LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce--creating a platform for businesses of all sizes to connect. The theme of the event is to "Inform, Involve, and Inspire" business leaders.
He also serves as the Secretary on his chamber's Executive Board of Directors.
"My passion is to visit all 50 states before I turn 50."
When Edsel is away from his desk, he spends his time traveling the US with his spouse Eric, a retired military veteran, on road-trips while taking in the vast beauty this country has to offer. Their goal is "50 before 50," to visit all 50 states before they turn 50 years "young."
When he is back at home, Edsel is an avid gardener where he has successfully grown lemons, limes, grapefruits, tomatoes, serrano peppers, jalapeno peppers, mint and a host of indoor and outdoor plants.
After overcoming significant health challenges, Edsel found his purpose in helping people receive quality care while also protecting them from financial ruin when unexpected events arise.
